RE: C.Monoxide Detector going off after Generator use
I ended up opening the door to the garage and turning on the electric vent fan and it stopped the problem. What could it have been?
I had the same prob. last year on my 04' WW. The CM detectors are only good for (5) years; after that they should be replaced. Mine was going off in storage; no CO present, batts. were full. They have a manuf.date stamped on them. Mine was (5) years old, to the month.
Replaced it with a like unit: no more probs.
FWIW. C-Ya!!
RE: F350 or F450
This is where I get confused. My understanding is the F350 TowBoss has a 17,800 lb tow rating, regardless of truck load, provided I don't go over the 13,000 GVWR for that truck (BTW, 1 of us is 200 lbs :D ). So, if the truck weighs 9K full of fuel (my SRW is 8800, wife and I, full fuel and normal load, including hitch), that leaves me 4k for pin weight, plus 17,800 on the trailer weight (total, pin and axles). If I'm wrong, someone explain it in K.I.S.S. terms for me.
Todd, my 05' F350 in sig has a 13,000# GVWR, and a 23500# GCVWR. Truck alone, full of fuel, hitch and me(nothing else), weighed 8540#.
When hooked to WW in sig(trailer loaded with all stuff for 7-day trip, full water, and all bikes except 1) my truck weighed 13120#, 4580# of PW, trailer at 16160#, 24700# total rig.
With your setup, you will be hard pressed to stay in an F350's GVWR, but if you go with the Towboss option(which raises GCVWR to 26000#), you should be within that rating, no prob.
I don't know what kind of FW you pull(sounds about like mine), but the decision is yours on how "legal" you want to be.
Back in 05' the F450 didn't exist in its' current form, as it does today, so I did't have that option. My 05' was one of the first del. into Cal.(Nov. 04"), and the Towboss option wasn't available until early 05', or I would have purchased it. Sounds like it may be a good option for you, also.
One thing to remember on the F450 with those 19.5"? wheels; while they are rated for a good amount of weight, and should last a long time, they don't air down worth a DARN, so going to any place that requires airing down will be a challenge. Last time I was at Pismo, I pulled a guy out with an F450/WW setup who was REALLY stuck. Asked him if his tires were down, he said "Yes, to 20PSI." Had no sidewall flex/bulge at all. FWIW. C-Ya!!
RE: WW stereo wiring diagram
I am NOT a car stereo wizard/component guru by ANY means.
Look at what deck you have, and THINK about how many CHANNELS you want to run.
(1) channel= 1 speaker, no?? FL, FR, RL, RR. It's not that difficult.
Some peps. will say that running your four inside speakers off two channels wil overheat your deck; I've been doing it for 4 YEARS with no adverse affects.
Spend yours money as you see fit. Mine works, .... GREAT!!! C-Ya!!
RE: Pismo Thanksgiving
It' GREAT, if you have reservations already!!
26 left for Weds. 26th, sold out for Thurs. 27th. Fri., 28th, sold out. Sat. 29th 1!! left.
I'm there (every year) 11/22-11-29. C-Ya!!
RE: WW stereo wiring diagram
WW uses a four channel deck, so if you want to run the (4) inside speakers, and the (2) outdoor ones, you need to wire it this way.
Take the leads of both left side, inside speakers, and plug them into the "front left" speaker output. Take the leads of both right side, inside speakers, and plug them into the "front right" speaker output.
My stock Sony deck in my SLC had a "pre-amp out" RCA plug in the back, which controls the REAR channel speakers. I took an RCA cable out of that plug, and ran it to an amp that I mounted on the cabinet above the sink. The amp has its' own, dedicated 12v supply that I ran from the breaker panel, with a inline fuse. I also wired a lighted 12v toggle switch to the face of the cabinet(next to the gas guage) to control on/off of the amp. I took the OUTSIDE speaker leads, and ran them up the back of the cabinet, and connected them to the L/R output of the amp.
Soooo, if you want to listen to music on the (4) indoor speakers, use the fade control on the deck, fade to "full front", and the (4) inside speakers play.
If you want to listen to the (2) outdoor speakers, fade to "full rear", throw the toggle to power the amp, and the (2) outside speakers play. If you fade to "0" or center, and the amp is on, ALL the speakers play. Works GREAT!! Make sense???? Hope this helps, C-Ya!!
RE: Those poor Bluehairs
May I ask a stupid question? If you have those speakers mounted down there, how for do you keep the dirt out of them?
I just LOVE this thread!!!! Too funny!!!!:B
Adding outside speakers/amp to my SLC was the first mod I did. I made removable brackets, so I can take the speakers off while traveling. Really simple to do; I'll snap some pics of the setup today, and post. Gotta p/u the trailer anywho and get it ready for the big moto weekend. C-Ya!!
RE: PISMO PARKING
You think THAT photo is bad....
You should see the guy on New Years 06'.
His WW FLOATED away, truck and all. Brand new LE + Duramax.
Anyone who was there that year knows what I am talking about; the Rangers came knocking at my door at 6 am, telling us that if we were not off the beach in 1 hour, we would be there for 2 more days. A LOT of rain!!!
The river was just up to my doorsils crossing, that is IF you took the right line.
Scary stuff...
That photo was posted here a while back.
Still love Pismo!! C-Ya!!
RE: dually in the sand? tire upgrade?
So does he air down too and how much harder is to to air down and fill up that my truck now?
Yeah, you definately want to air down going into Pismo.
I purchased inner dual valve extentions that make airing down the inner dual a snap. I also purchased Oasis deflators, which work well. There are other brands out there that are cheaper, and work as good or better.
Harder to air up? Yeah, six tires instead of four. That's it.
Duallies do well in the sand IF aired down properly. The rear dual at 15psi or so makes one great big sand tire. Don't worry about the sidewalls touching; you want that at Pismo!! Your speed will be so slow that the sidewalls will have no issue. Have fun!! C-Ya!!
RE: Best F350 CC SRW 6.0 towing upgrade?
FWIW, from personal experience with my 05', 58K on the clock, pulling a FW that weighs 16160# loaded.....
Get guages FIRST, boost, EGT, tranny temp. DieselManor carries some good ones that match your stock guage faces for a great price.
Exhaust. I run a 4"DP into 5" Magnaflow, kitty got hit and left this world. This one mod will greatly lower your EGT's pulling. Best mod for the buck. If I had to do it over again, I would stick with a 3.5" DP; with the 4" you actually lose some backpressure, causing a slight lack of "turbo spool up" off the line. The advantage of the 4" is it does lower the EGT's that little bit more.
Two things NOT to do. Intake and programmer. Do your own research on the intake, but the concenus on the 6.0 is the stock system flows and filters as good or better than any aftermarket system. Did I have an AFE at one time? Yes. Did Ford tell me to take it off before they would perform warranty work? Yes. IMHO, the risk is not worth the reward.
I HAD a programmer. On my FIRST longblock in this truck. I have run the SECOND longblock for 35K miles without a problem whatsoever. See what I mean.
Guages, exhaust, that's it. The truck will live a long, happy life, and so will you. C-Ya!!
RE: Warrior's assets siezed
I am glad my "new", 1 year old, "used", WW bought in Dec. 05' has a Good Sams Bumper to Bumper Warranty for 7 years.
I have had ZERO problems with this coach; much less than my previous FR Sandpiper Sport.
WW will survive; they really started/set the pace for the whole industry. I REALLY feel bad for the folks that bought an 07', 08', 09,. coach; if they didn't get a third party warranty, they are done.
The BIGGER picture is this is a slam, AGAIN, on AMERICAN manufacturing. Don't think for a minute that this doesn't affect us ALL in a negative way!!
I love my WW. Hope they can return. C-Ya!!

Check out the Sandpiper line of T/H's, manuf. by ForestRiver.

Darn good trailer. C-Ya!!
RE: XPS Tires on Toy Hauler?
Curious Question about the XPS RIBS, These tires are the all steel radials meaning steel belts in the side walls, right? I am guessing that you would destroy these tires if you aired them down to 15-20 PSI in the dunes. Do you guys air them down? I was considering the BFG Commercials for this reason. Am I off base?
I have been running Ribs for 3 years, with multiple trips (30 or so)to Pismo, airing them down to 20 psi.
Have not had any issues at all.
Great tires!! C-Ya!!

RE: Weekend Warrior CL4005 Wheel bolt patter
Eagle Alloys, part # 0550-7766.
Michelin XPS Ribs, 225/75/16.
This is what I have run the past 3 years on my SLC. Your CL has the same exact bolt pattern and backspacing.
Bulletproof setup.
